
The live-action of classic Disney animated films shows no signs of slowing down with the new the little Mermaid, starring Hal Bailey as Ariel, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, hits theaters May 26. Ahead of its release, LEGO has revealed three new films the little Mermaid sets this past weekend, including an impressively large design aimed at adult collectors.
Although the original animation the little Mermaid First hitting theaters in 1989, Lego wasn’t really making licensed sets, over the years the company has released a handful of sets depicting a mermaid longing to be human, but mostly aimed at younger builders. With the live-action remake of the movie, Lego still has several plays for kids, but the Royal Clamshell is clearly marketed to those who grew up with the original movie and building toy, and is happy to make room on a shelf for a collection that brings together those audiences. check it out!
