The movie is based on the 2011 Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert movie flash point comic, where Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) chooses to go back in time and prevent his mother’s death. But in doing so, he ends up accidentally creating a whole new timeline where things are much worse: there is apparently no Superman or any other humans in the picture, so when General Zod (Michael Shannon) on Earth, things just don’t show up great. With his timeline current, the original Barry teams up with Michael Keaton’s Batman to get Kryptonian refugee Kara Zor-El (Sasha Kale) into fighting form and undo the timeline shenanigans he caused.
WB has been keen to promote Batman and Supergirl as the main draws of the the light, And the new trailer is no exception. There’s still guesswork about which parts of the DCEU will carry over entirely from this movie, but the point of this movie is mainly to clear the deck. whatever Other tricks The movie Stand Up Its Sleeve is something WB is playing close to the box with, at least for now.
